This a match up I’m looking forward to seeing.  There’s numerous sub plots.  The Jets have beaten the previously unbeaten Colts before, of course there’s an asterisk next to that win because the Colts did not play their starters for much of the second half.  There are more questions this time around.  Can the Colts stop the Jets ground attack?  How will Mark Sanchez play; is he truly the quarterback we saw last week or was in a fluke?  How will the the Jets defensive line hold up against a well-rested Colts offensive line?

The Colts will win this game for one reason; they have Peyton Manning.  He is simply the best quarterback in the game today, perhaps even the best of all time.  (His recent MVP award goes a long way to solidifying that.)  The Jets will not be able to get to him or force him to make mistakes that will cost his team.  Look for the Colts to grind out a win in this slow-paced game, and get revenge against the Jets who beat them earlier in the year.

Update:  The Indianapolis Colts defeated the Jets 30-17 and are going to the Super Bowl in Miami.   Peyton Manning proved why he is perhaps the greatest quarterback ever to play the game, throwing for 377 yards and three touchdowns.  The Colts took away the Jets ability to run the ball, forcing them to be one dimensional and pass the football.  Mark Sanchez cannot thrive on a football team that is pass-oriented, and it showed.

Welcome to my blog.  My name is Nathan Chavez.   I’m rather new to all of this but I’ve finally decided to give blogging a shot.  I am a writer by trade.  At least, I think I can still say that.  I graduated from Arizona State University with Bachelor’s degrees in English linguistics and English Literature, along with several certifications such as the writer’s certificate and four computer certifications.  I do hope one day to finish my CMOS training and attend law school.  My education, as you can see, is diverse.  That’s what I hope this will be for me; an outlet that will be as seemingly random as my thoughts, multifarious as my interests, and insightful at the same time.  I hope to cover everything from literature to computer software to information security to sports and maybe even politics, to everything in between.

I think this will be a good game.  Both teams are led by quarterbacks that have a knack for being able to find their receivers in the face of pressure.  Expect this team to be a high scoring game, with surprisingly little emphasis placed on the run game.  Reggie Bush will prove that the game last week against the Cardinals was a fluke and will go back to being an extremely average players who had his best days in a Trojan uniform.  Adrian Peterson will be little help in the in the run game, and will only be effective catching screen passes or providing pass protection.

Brees versus Favre, Adrian Peterson versus Reggie Bush, fading hopes of immortality versus the rising expectations of a team that looks to be a mainstay in the playoffs.  This game, unlike the Colts Jets game, features two highly-explosive teams led by two great quarterbacks that just plain win football games.

What teams will show up today; the Vikings team with horrible performances versus the Cardinals and the Bears or the team that destroyed ego-centric Jones’ Cowboys last weak, the Jets team that finished 9–7 and got into the playoffs because the Colts rested their starters or the team that beat the New England Patriots in the wild-card game?

I don’t like Farve.  I think what he did to the fans in Green Bay, what he did by retiring from the NFL twice, his motivation for coming back to play for Minnesota, and what he puts football fans in general through every summer tells us that Favre is not the can-do-no-wrong golden boy he once was.  However, where there’s a will there’s a way.  Farve wills his team to victory nearly every week, this week will be no different.
